Fox Necklace, Sterling Silver Animal buying Jewelry, Fox Pendant with Labradorite

A cunning fox is the focal point of this fantasy jewelry fox necklace; foxes are known to be very smart, but they also have a strong connection to the faerie realm and can act as a guide in a quest to be more attuned with the world of fey. When I was in the process of sculpting the unicorn necklace I saw a fox on a few different occasions in our wooded yard. We've lived in this house for 17 years and I'd never seen a fox before so felt sure that it needed to be included as part of the necklace. I use it as a drop in that instance, but am also offering it as a single pendant.

The stone in the buying pendant is Labradorite; it is an overall light gray color with a beautiful blue green chatoyance. Labradorite is a mystical stone that is said to relieve anxiety and increase intuition. I do have other stones available including amethyst and moonstone. This fox pendant with Labradorite was created using the lost-wax casting method. After various designs and sketches were completed the fox, branches and setting were sculpted out of wax. This process takes many enjoyable hours to create a strong overall design, along with precise detail . When sculpting is complete the wax is invested in plaster and put in a kiln for a burnout cycle, the wax melts and molten silver is poured into the void where the wax used to be. It is cooled for a few minutes, then quenched in water, the plaster breaks away leaving the cast metal. Then excess metal is removed and the piece is given a rough polish. The silver is then oxidized (antiqued) to highlight the detail of the work before the stone is set and it receives a final buff.

The sterling silver animal jewelry fox pendant is 1 inch tall by 3/4 inch wide. A black 16 inch cord is included.
