A truly superb hand painted and hand carved wooden patch box/keepsake box/pill box/snuff box. It's difficult to be sure if the exact date, but it could be early 1800s.
The circular lid is glass topped and inset with a hand painted basket of flowers on a gold background
The quality of the carving in particular on the bottom is incredible - please see photos of the intricate geometric circle. Carving of this standard is buying a sign of quality.
