buying The blue of her dress just grabbed my eye. The artist isn't actually known, and it has been debated amongst art experts for decades. However, the current consensus is that the work is by Robert Peckham (1785-1877) of Massachusetts. The girl in the portrait is Rosa Heywood, the oldest daughter of Walter and Nancy Foster Heywood of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Her father having started the Walter Heywood Chair Manufacturing Company in 1841.
Found at an estate sale, this piece will add lush splash of color to any wall.
This print was probably purchased and framed sometime in the 1980's
