The apron dress called smokkr is a characteristic element of the clothing of Scandinavian women, as well as some of the inhabitants of Kievan Rus. The common occurrence of such dresses in this cultural circle is evidenced by numerous finds of turtle brooches with the remains of the loops preserved inside. The reconstruction of the cut is based on the development of fragments of dresses from Scandinavia, e.g. the Danish (at that time) Hedeby. Archaeological sources indicate that they were most often made of wool. It was probably a representative garment of wealthy women - this is indicated by the remnants of gilding and silvering preserved on brooches, as well as, for example, a finding of fragments of an apron dress from Pskov in Ruthenia, which was decorated with silk.

ATTENTION! To wear the dress, turtle brooches are required, which are used to fasten the loops on the shoulders.

We use high-quality materials for our costumes, we finish the seams with great care ... or with less care, if the reconstruction of the find requires it. For the most demanding customers, we have access to hand-woven and naturally dyed materials to recreate the material culture of our ancestors as closely as possible.
We make costumes in accordance with the current state of scientific knowledge and on the basis of archaeological, ethnographic and iconographic buying evidence.

3. Choose finishing.
- Inner seams by mashine, and visible by hand.
- Every seam hand made.
- we don't offer visible mashine seams - well... it is not reenactment then!

4. After approx. 2-3 months you'll receive your finished product ;]
