This chainmail standard is simple, yet effective; a band of chainmail and leather that protects the neck, particularly from cutting or slashing strikes. Much of the chainmail has been stitched in place to the leather and the chainmail links are round rings dome riveted.

Aluminum chain mail is not a good choice for contact fighting reenactment or sport, but it is a good choice for costume, the renaissance faire, role-playing, or non-contact fighting reenactment - it will be buying much easier on the shoulders and body after hours of wear than standard mail.

The combination of chainmail with a leather backing gives good protection for the neck - a standard is an easy add-on to gain a fuller degree of protection from chainmail armor.
