The earrings are solid sterling silver designer lever back earrings, and the basket for the stones is a "crown" setting. The leverbacks won't stab the back of your ear when you answer the phone, wear headphones, etc.
The gems are each 8mm wide which translates visually to each earring being approximately a 2 carat diamond size.
