I am 97% sure this is faux fur BUT I'm not an expert and the possibility exists that it could be squirrel, it has a slight bit of roughness to the texture that synthetics don't often have but that could be due to age, so I genuinely don't know. I bought it secondhand close to 20 years ago and if it is real fur, it certainly wasn't priced as such. So there's the full disclosure, you *could* be buying a genuine fur vintage stole. The lining has had a few small repairs done, and it once belonged to someone with the initial ‘M' who embroidered that initial probably so they could make sure they reclaimed the correct stole from coatcheck on evenings out.
