Isn't this a great painting in the naive style? Oblong paintings are somewhat uncommon and here the subject matter is well suited to the oblong presentation. Lovely Americana style and you soon become absorbed in how each one of the pears has such a distinct personality. This makes me think buying of that Wallace Stevens poem about the pears. The artist has signed but I am not sure what I am reading. I'm thinking it says Gaye. This lovely work measures approximately 24 in by 12 inches and is ready to go up on your wall. I would probably hang it on a wall that received late evening light. I imagine that golden hour would really bring out interesting changes in these colors.
