A fantastic decorative vintage 1960's brown leather animal set. Includes: elephant, hippopotamus / hippo, and giraffe dating to mid 20th century, circa 1960's. Animals in this style were made by of Liberty of London and some other manufacturers, although there are no makers marks so I'm uncertain of maker......may possibly be by Liberty or made in the style of Liberty, maker unknown. Beautiful quirky vintage mid century animals, typically stuffed with paper mache and straw then leather wrapped using real brown leather, this charming elephant and hippo have brown glass eyes buying and plastic tusks / teeth....very decorative/ collectible piece. Very nice, vintage condition, has some scuffing, wear, distress and cracking to the leather in places (see pics).The giraffe has a small crack in leather on left horn... I feel this patina adds some character and charm to this magnificent vintage safari collection. Cost per each: Hippo: $65/Giraffe: $40/Elephant: $45.
