Kente yard is not the same as African fabric/ankara . This woven top-notch quality kente is not measured like the normal African fabric/Ankara. Handwoven kente buying in “yards” is an estimate and not exact. The Kente strips are joined together to make 2 yards for a piece in three to make 6 yards.

6 yards kente comes in three pieces. The first piece is between 55 - 65 inches long and width is 43 - 45 inches. The Second piece is between 55 - 65 inches long and width is between 37 - 39inches. The third piece between is 55- 65 inches long and the width is between 35-38 inches. Please for you to make a dress, you would the 6 yards( 3 bundles) to make the dress. You can as well request for it to be made like a traditional kente for engagement and just like how queen mothers' put on.

2 yards comes in one piece and be made into attire for children or for a design for adults.
4 yards comes in two pieces. 4 yards can made into an attire for teenager or for an adult.

Note:Plain yards don't have one full piece. Let's say you want 12 yards, you will get 6 pieces of 2 yards and if it is 18 yards, you will get 9 pieces of 2 yards.
