Katie does crafts... just like it says, and she buying is always looking for cloth, threads and trims to play around with, nothing is safe... she has even been known to chop up her own clothes if the fabric she needs for a project just fits!

Katie is from a collection of cloth and clay dolls, a cloth jointed body with clay face. Their style is more primitive, I wanted to create a creepy cute doll collection using a lot of upcycled and recycled fabrics and trims, wools and embellishments. I have a vast collection of vintage fabrics and these dolls are perfect for using those that I have collected over decades.

She has a lovely warm jumper of olive green and a complementary pretty skirt, finished with a gorgeous embroidered ribbon trim. Her bloomers are cream cotton with 2 fancy patches of floral fabric, quirkily stitched with bright threads. Her boots are black and so cute! She has the most wonderful mass of red and ginger hair, swept back with fabric roses she has created. She has sweet round frame glasses, after all she needs to able to thread her needles no matter how tiny. Attached to her waist she has her craft bag, for this I used a lovely piece of Broderie Anglais and green ribbon, and sculpted a pair of scissors to pop inside.. she has a pair of knitting needles in there too!
