Description

Product Name: Pride Smudge Fan-Celebrate Pride Month & 2 Spirited People. 73 gemstone Sage Fan kit with Sage, Himalayan pink buying Salt, and abalone shell

This Smudge fan is one of a kind (OOAK)! I never make the same item twice. This Fan focuses on the colors of the Pride Rainbow and the power that comes from the Solidarity of the LGBTQ Community. Medicine, In the Native American Culture this portion of the Tribe is called “Two Spirited People”. The LGBTQ community have chosen the image of the Rainbow to symbolize their acceptance of themselves in our modern times. In addition this Fan is full of the Energy Father Sky, Grandfather Sun, and Mother Earth, as their Energy joins the Sacred Elements Water and Fire, and Earth to create the the amazing art reflected in the Energy of the “Rainbow”. During my my Medicine Wheel Meditation to prepare for creating this Smudge Fan, I focused on the Energy of the Ancient Native Americans believed that there were more than 2 genders. They saw Male, Female, Feminine Male, Masculine Female all as part of The Great Spirit's creation. They made no difference between Heterosexual, Homosexual and Transgender persons. There was a natural acceptance to this “difference” that actually honored them by allowing the person to dress, work and live in their comfort, focusing instead on their Spiritual gifts, some believing that gay or transgender Tribal member held higher Spiritual Energy” and that Two Spirited people possessed double the Spiritual Gifts. Unfortunately in present day, the attitudes of some of the Tribal members have shifted to follow the teachings brought by the Missionaries of the past and being LGTB is not as accepted. Hopefully this will shift back to the Ancient views of the understanding and embracing of Two Spirited People as one of The Great Spirit's creations!!! This Smudge/Prayer
Fan Celebrates the “Two Spirit Energy”!

~We often fail to see how colors can bring Energy that both heals and hurts. Cultures have understood this down through History.

~Red Medicine is powerful partly because the color Red is known to be the longest wavelength, making one of the most powerful colors. It is stimulating and lively, very friendly. At the same time, it can be perceived as demanding and aggressive. Red invokes physical courage, strength, warmth, energy, basic survival, 'fight or flight', stimulation, masculinity, excitement. Red Feathers bring vitality and health, red was the preferred color of Tribal Royalty in many Tribes.

~The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. Orange offers emotional strength in difficult times. It helps us to bounce back from disappointments and despair, assisting in recovery from grief. It is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit. In fact orange is so optimistic and uplifting that we should all find ways to use it in our everyday life, even if it is just an orange colored pen that we use. Orange brings spontaneity and a positive outlook on life and is a great color to use during tough economic times, keeping us motivated and helping us to look on the bright side of life.

~The color Yellow is an attention getter. It is connected to Grandfather Sun his Energy giving us Blessings each day. Yellow's Medicine brings intelligence, playfulness, cheerfulness, mental alertness, prosperity, enhances concentration and stimulates the metabolism to help improve health. Corresponds to the 3rd or solar plexus chakra, and the musical note E. However, while it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overuse.

~The color green has healing power and is understood to be the most restful and relaxing color for the human eye to view, can help enhance stability and endurance. It is the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart. Green renews and restores depleted energy. It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being. This is why there is so much of this relaxing color on the earth, and why we need to keep it that way. Green takes up more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye and it is the dominant color in Nature.

~The color Blue brings order and direction into life, it is a color that seeks peace and tranquility above everything else, promoting both physical and mental relaxation, reducing stress, creating a sense of calmness, relaxation and order. Blue slows the metabolism, is the color of the Spirit, devotion and Spiritually based meditation and study. Blue Medicine honors both the sky and the sea, and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, expansiveness, inspiration, and sensitivity and also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, heaven, and intelligence. It invokes spirituality and order, as it reflects our wish for peace and quiet, tranquility and even solitude, The color blue has positive affects on the mind and the body.

~The Color Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. Often associated with royalty, nobility, it is also has Energy Spiritual, some call it a “God Color” sending Energy to the sacred, higher self, passion, third eye, fulfillment, and vitality. Purple helps align oneself with the whole of the universe and teaches the true meanings of wealth, creativity, wisdom, dignity, devotion, peace, pride.

~To create this Smudge fan I used 5 (Representing the 5 Sacred Elements: Air, Water, Fire, Earth, and Spirit) White Turkey wing feathers for the base. From top to bottom, I placed 3 (Representing Father Sky, Mother Earth, and the Higher Self) Turkey wing feathers that are dyed Red, with 4 (Representing the 4 Sacred directions) Guinea Fowl that are dyed orange. There is 1 (In honor if the One ever-present, omnipotent Universal Energy/Great Spirit) Ostrich feather dyed yellow, with 3 Curly Goose feathers dyed green underneath. To complete the feather fan I placed 6 (representing the 6 Sacred Directions of Blessings; East, South, West, North, Up to Father Sky and down to Mother Earth) Partridge feathers dyed blue, and 7 (honoring the 7 Sacred Ceremonies and the 7 chakra points) with 7 Turkey pre-Wing feathers dyed purple. The Handle is covered in white deerskin leather and adorned with Rainbow colored Native American inspired Peyote beading, at the top and bottom with a rainbow Medicine Wheel piece in the center.

The salt both helps clear negative energy and keeps the sage burning better. The Smudge Fan and Smudging is sacred. I make them in the Cherokee Way, passed down from my ancestors, using cruelty free feathers and giving prayerful thanks to the animals for their gift of their feathers. All of my items are created after clearing my space and myself with sage and while in a state of Spiritually centered meditation.

~Some call Smudging “Spiritual House Cleaning “ It is used to clear negative energy and to find your “Center”. Focus on “the now” and keep positive thoughts while smudging. Light the sage and use the feather to fan the smoldering sage towards the East, then the West, North, South, to the sky, the ground, and in a circle around yourself. Next fan toward your heart, head, down your body, giving thanks for all the good in your world. This is not the only way to sage. There are many different ways and you get to choose the one best for you and your belief system.
