Staurolite- is a chemically complex hydrous oxide of aluminum, iron, magnesium and zinc. In black or red-brown, its characterized most often by cruciform twins, though it can occur as single crystals. It is colored a light tan to dark brown, and forms in flat, pencil-like tabbie buying crystals. The 90 degree Greek Cross and the 60 degree St. Andrew's cross shapes of Staurolite are most prized for luck and spiritual values. Staurolite is an excellent physical protection mineral which enhances the descent of the total self-light into the physical plane. It is exceptionally useful for disturbed children who can easily fall prey to unseen negativity when distress is in their lives. Staurolite is an inducer of higher self-perception, supporting an individual to remain in personal truth, thereby creating a reality and sensation of courage as well as the ability to overcome denial.
