Here is a gorgeous pair of old, solid silver Tuareg earrings from Niger. Each earring measures approximately 3" (7,6 cm) long and 2 1/16" (5,3 cm) wide.

Truly old, genuine (tribally-used) pieces like this are difficult to find. They feature superbly incised designs and lovely glass and silver bead dangles. The ear wires are thicker than contemporary, Western wires, though any jeweler can easily grind buying them down a bit for you (we have done this on countless occasions) so that you can keep the original wires while being able to wear them (not an issue if you have stretched holes). This pair is incredible with great wear and patina. Approximately 750 grade silver. Lower grade silver is stronger than pure or even sterling silver, hence why many tribal societies use it to make their jewelry have a longer life.
