The object:
Lisa Larson's large charming lion with rounded form and kind expression. It is decorated by hand in brown tones, giving it a unique touch. Lisa designed the lion in 1964 as part of the Africa (Afrika) series. The series consist of a mini, large and gigantic buying lion. The mini and gigantic lions are still produced by Keramikstudion Gustavsberg. Charming and chubby! This is the smallest size with a height of approximately 5 cm.

The artist:
Lisa Larson (1931-) and her pottery are renowned representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. She is well known for her warm-hearted, humorous and sometimes subtly ironic design. Lisa worked for the Gustavsberg factory in 1954-1980. Lisa Larson's lions are amongst her most beloved and well-known figurines. They come in all shapes and sizes, but all share a kind and warmhearted expression.
