Scouting on Two Continents by Major Frederic Russell Burnham (1861-1947) Danish Edition titled Fra Alaska Til Kap (roughly translates From Alaska to the Cape). This is Burnham's story of scouting on two continents for the United States Army in the Apache Wares and the British Army in the Matebele Wars in Southern Africa. Beautifully decorated hardcover with maps, drawings and black and white photographs. A481

Burnham is credited as the one to revolutionize scouting in both the US and British armies. Born on a Dakota Sioux Reservation, he learned the ways of the Native Americans in early life and used those lessons later in his scouting endeavors.

Russell is often described as the "Father of Scouting" and this book details his life as an adventurer in the late 19th and early 20th century.
