French vintage oil portrait of buying religious men

buying Oil portrait of three religious men studying scrolls. Faithful and devotional, they're wearing what appears to be ancient Hebrew clothing. Their wrapping cloaks are white and have stripes, called "Talit" in jewish-arminian culture. The "Talits" have fringes (also called "tsitsit") on them, as the biblical prescription of the Torah asks for it. In orthodox Judaism, the "tsitsit" are only worn by men. We can imagine these three individuals as wise messengers finding the right words to convey sacred ideas in early times.
