Antique Tramp Art buying Wall Pocket Folk Art Hearts c.1900 Authentic Americana

Here is a beautiful antique wood tramp art wall pocket that is perfect for your outgoing mail! This one-of-a-kind piece features fabulous chip carved carving in multiple layers, using different types of wood and features two hearts. I am dating this wall pocket to c.1900-1910.

What a wonderful gift item for the folk art lover! And it is practical as well. The design is very unique and nicely detailed. I love the two different color pieces of wood used..especially the amber colored pieces.

The carved pine wood is in clean, wonderful condition and has a lovely patina from age. There is a blemish/scrape on the front left that you can see in the photos. That should lesson with a bit of Brie Wax. I don't see any shrinkage buying cracks. It has a couple of dings..nothing that detracts really. I purchased it at Brimfield years ago so I am pretty certain it is an American piece.
