Dragonfly buying Necklace, Sterling Silver Jewelry

This beautiful 925 sterling silver dragonfly necklace started out as a broach but I loved the way it hung on this vintage silver rolo chain so I repurposed it into this darling necklace. It has a lovely red garnet stone in the center. The silver rolo chain is repurposed from a vintage Brighton necklace and has a lobster clasp with a 1 1/2 inch extender.

Brighton's buckles, jewelry, chain and other silver accessories, are cast in solid brass or zinc, and then dipped in pure buying silver. Since silver has a natural tendency to tarnish (oxidize) and scratch, Brighton has added a protective layer of lacquer to help prevent this from happening.
