Delft~ polychrome~ ginger~ buying jar ~urn

Vintage hand painted Delft ginger jar and 2 vases set "Made by BOCH for Royal Sphinx Holland" on bottom - see photo of mark. The Sphinx trade mark has been in use since 1834 but this particular jar is probably closer to Circa 1940-1960. Hand decorated in classic design of light and dark shades of blue. This jar and 2 vases set is in very good condition. Visual and tactile examination do not reveal any cracks, chips, crazing or other damage

De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft ) three-piece Delft Blue earthenware cabinet set (delftware garniture), consisting of a lidded vase and two chalice vases on the flanks. A decor with leaf and flower motifs.
Hand painted and clearly marked.


The world famous Delft earthenware has a rich history, dating back to the early 1600s, the period of the V.O.C. (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie). Of the approx.. 32 potteries that were founded in the 17th century in Delft, Royal Delft is the only surviving manufacturer in Delft.
