Buying Mexican Rebozo

Buying Mexican Rebozo, The striped/checkered/Ikat pattern gives this shawl a tribal air Based on the little.

Description

Product Name: Buying Mexican Rebozo

The striped/checkered/Ikat pattern buying gives this shawl a tribal air. Based on the little research I have done, it could have been made in the first half of the 20th century. The fabric is lustrous and does provide a layer of warmth for cool evenings. 114" including fringe x 31"
I tried a burn test on a fiber from the shawl, but results are inconclusive (for this neophyte); though it does not seem to be polymer/petroleum based. In good vintage condition. There are pulled threads here and there, but nothing dramatic.

11-24-15 Many thanks to MudSeasonZombie for sending more info about this shawl: "This is a Mexican rebozo. They did and do make some out of silk, but the ones I've seen in those patterns are artisela (a synthetic silk made from cellulose fiber). The longer and more elaborate the fringe the better."
