RARE Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy magazine - Newsweek June 5, buying 1961

Hard to believe this is from 50 years ago, as I type this on May 30, 2021, almost to the day. buying

In addition to an article titled, "A New Breed - The Militant N*gro in the South" with quotes from Dr. King and other founding members of the civil rights movement, there is also a story about the Freedom Riders. Additionally, and this is why I *love* reading these magazine, buried on pages 47 and 48 is the story about the birth of Apartheid in South Africa, "A Time for Fear."

As we continue to evolve as a country, reading a magazine like this offers an invaluable insight into where we've come. Simply a fascinating magazine.

If you've been coming to our shop, then you know that I like to share links for what the general "marketplace" value of something. In this case, I couldn't find an issue of this magazine for sale anywhere. There was a picture of it on Pintrest, and that was it. A part of me doesn't want to let this one go, but I've read it. And as I do with all our treasures, I hope it finds its way into the hands of someone who will appreciate and be as moved by these articles as I was.

This is a well-cared for but vintage magazine. Please review the attached pictures; they are the best judge of the quality. No pages are missing. And the magazine has not been despined.
