70's buying Vintage Tooled Leather Purse Handbag

We all had these back in the 70's buying. I'm not sure how we got from there to those crappy, big name production purses made in China? In any event, it's refreshing to see the tide turning, and everything about this purse says handmade.

The purse has a simple, hand tooled floral design on both the front and the back and a hand laced gusset. The unlined interior is very clean. The 34" strap is attached on each side with a rivet and hand tied piece of leather. As typical of this style, there are no pockets inside. In order to capture the tooling, the exposure had to be adjusted which caused the color to look darker than it actually is. The purse is a natural color without a lot of variation.

The purse is 9" high and 11" wide, with a 3" inch gusset. The leather is a very sturdy cowhide. Should last a lifetime!
