c1840 Gorgeous Coalport Porcelain Rococo Revival Coffee Can Duo - dainty pattern of gold squiggles, fronds, scrolls loop handle finished with gilt rim on white ground.
Not stamped but the pattern number is on the base 4/955
Coalport was one of the leading Potters of iconic designs in the 19th and 20th century. The Pottery emerged around the 1800 in Shropshire right on buying the outskirts of Staffordshire where other leading Potteries such as Minton, Spode, Davenport and many others began.
Founded by John Rose who had been apprenticed to Thomas Turner of Caughley.
Considering the age, the duo is in excellent antique condition. Some minor loss on the gilt trim and some marks inside the can. Please study the photos carefully.
The dimensions are 5 7/8” wide for the saucer, 2 7/8” tall and wide for the coffee can.
This magnificent collection belonged to an expert of 1750 - 1900 British Potteries, which he lovingly collected, catalogued and researched for over 50 + years.
