Mokume gane (Japanese for “wood-grained metal”) lends itself well to the symbolism of weddings. It is created from separate metals that are forged and twisted together to make a striking and beautiful pattern.

This mokume gane is made from argentium silver and copper. Argentium silver is resistant to tarnishing, which makes this a wonderful band to wear every day. The copper has been darkened with a solution called Baldwin's Patina to bring out the contrast between the silver and the copper. The inside and edges are smoothed and polished for a comfortable wearing surface. The band measures approximately .25 inch (6 mm) and the inside is lined with argentium silver that keeps the copper from coming into contact with the skin. The outside of the band is coated with a durable coating to increase the wearability.
