Prancing and Pirouetting Pink Piglets on Four Hanging buying Stoneware Tiles

Four pink piglets prance and pirouette on four hanging 5-1/2 by 9 inch framed stoneware tiles -- the perfect addition to a child's room. They can be hung in many different configurations, limited only by your imagination.

The piglets and the raised frame (also made of stoneware) are glazed in a mottled satin-finish pink, and the background is a creamy satin glaze with tiny light brown dots. The piglets have been carved into linoleum blocks (the same ones that are used for printmaking, only carved more deeply), then pressed into the damp clay. The unglazed back of the tiles has been sealed with two coats of matte tile sealer.

A hanger made of a block of oak with plastic-coated wire threaded through is firmly affixed to the back with E6000 glue, an industrial-strength rubber cement. The wire loop can be bent to accommodate any hook, nail, etc., that you will be hanging the tile from. The oak block, which is 3/4 inch thick, holds the tile out from the wall a bit, making shadows, and is far more interesting-looking than having the tile flat against the wall.
