This BATIK lamp was handmade by me from the beginning until completion:
x Reserve motif by wax application with pure beeswax from beekeepers from the region
x Colour bath with local dyeing plants from your own garden
x the surfaces to retain this buying first colour are again reserved with wax after drying the fabric
x then a color bath follows again
x these two steps (apply wax for reserving and coloring the rest of the fabric) are repeated as often as desired
x is colored from light to dark, because it is colored over it (you could also bleach...)
x Iron ingesling or boiling to remove the wax
x Sewing together
x also the wooden lamp scaffold comes from my hands

Sounds simple, is also simple in itself, but very time-consuming due to several color gradients and wax jobs!

Batik (javan. "mbatik" = write with wax) is a very old
'reservation technique', in which samples and/or surfaces are recorded on the fabric by means of molten wax and thus covered and therefore are not rinsed in the colour bath during the subsequent dyeing of the fabric and thus retain their original colour.

Whenever you buy something from a small company, somewhere a real person dances a big dance of joy...
