Linda Hesh "Buzz" Pierced Earrings - Vintage Sterling and Copper Bumblebee - Maine Collectible - Reduced Second Time for Quick buying Sale

1990s - TITLED "BUZZ" by CREATOR - REDUCED TWICE for QUICK SALE

Back in 1993 in Portland, Maine, my cousin Cathy made this incredible find - a pair of intricately crafted earrings by artist Linda Hesh who had created a Bumblebee in flight from copper with a thick sterling silver piece extending from it like a tendril that ends in a back that secures your ear lobe.

More than two dozen years later, I contacted Ms. Hesh, who no longer channels her art in this direction. She lives on the East Coast where she has exhibited widely. Back in the 90s, however, she was running her own company, designing for women and men. She buying utilized the "lost wax casting" technique utilizing hand construction and manipulation as well as photo etching. electroforming, stone setting and beading. Her materials ranged from precious stones to found objects.

As for the bee earrings she christened "BUZZ", Linda explained this in her letter to me: "The bees are brass stampings that I purchased, and the wire and posts are sterling silver. I sold them to craft stores, museum stores and boutiques across America in the 90s." My cousin acquired them in July, 1993. Because Linda Hesh no longer makes this design, it is highly collectible.

As you can see from the title, they've just been reduced again for a quick sale.
